    So you can run the truck with a bad compressor? Full disclosure, yes I am stupid and believe that since it's tied to the serpentine belt, it will ruin other things

      Depends what’s wrong with it. If it’s locked up, you will have to bypass it. If it just doesn’t work, then you can leave it.

I'll be using your video when I do the repairs as well. You're amazing! Thanks for helping me learn how to do this for myself! It's so rewarding to do this stuff independently!

    Whats up thanks for the resourceful video, i was able to install the ac, but i had a question the next day after the install i turn on the ac and it leaked all the ac gas, im assuming i probably didn’t connect the ac pressure switch cables right. One has a letter A and another B, can you let me know which one is power and the other ground? Please and thanks in advance.

    The only reason I was looking at this video was to find the trick to take the compressor rat without removing the clutch. That was cleverly bypassed, and the hard part of the job was already done clutch on this one we're working with is rusted and frozen I guess I'll cut the bolts.

    When removing the knurles from that pin, put the pin in a drill and spin it while holding sandpaper around it. You will get a cleaner, more rounded pin than what you will get from a grinder.

    Why not just replace the factory bushings with machined brass available on the net for $30. No need to mess with unplugging all that. You will have to watch a video taking the door apart some to change the bushings. I got really good at it trying to use the cast bushings that will fail immediately due to door pin holes No longer being round. The machined brass bushings will correct this and the doors will stay lined up.

    You're supposed to remove the tension on the ebrakes before trying to remove the rotor. VERY IMPORTANT. You remove that little rubber boot, and stick a screw driver inside and can adjust the tension. Watch other videos to see how, do not just bang the rotor!

    • @SuburbanRanch
      @SuburbanRanch 11 днів тому

      The e-brake is not engaged, there is no tension. The reason the rotor won’t come off easily is due to corrosion between the face of the hub and the rotor.

    You mentioned changing the oil more regularly than what Lexus recommends. Is there any reason or motivation for Lexus to recommend every 10K miles instead of 5K miles? I would think their engineers would know what's best for their car unless there is some ulterior motive of theirs that you have a theory on.

    • @SuburbanRanch
      @SuburbanRanch 16 днів тому

      10k mile oil changes are a great selling feature (less maintenance cost), but that’s a long time to run the oil. There are plenty of engine tear down videos on cars that have long oil change intervals on UA-cam if you want to learn more. It’s pretty cheap/easy to do it at 5k mile intervals.
